Aswan University’s Department of Libraries and Information is Egypt’s most modern department of documents, libraries, and information. The research began in the academic year 2015 AD, with the goal of preparing professional cadres in the fields of documents, libraries, and information.

Goals
1. Offering outstanding educational programs in the fields of libraries, documents, and information in order to develop professional cadres with the necessary skills to keep up with contemporary information technology, such as computers, electronic databases, and the Internet.
2- Training capable researchers to conduct research and study in order to bolster specialized intellectual output in the sphere of documents, libraries, and information as well as to support the dissemination of cognitive awareness.
3. Creating the facilities for the department and setting up the essential labs to support the teaching, training, and research processes.
4. Strengthening the department’s ties to the community by offering qualified advice and educational programs to those working in the public and private sectors’ document, library, and information fields.
