Aswan University President: witnesses the conclusion party of the events of presidential initiative ”Sporting is a National Security” and the activities of the first-semester

On Tuesday, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed-Aswan University President the events of presidential initiative ”Sporting is a National Security” in the attendance of Dr. Ayman Othman, Vice-University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Magdi Muhammad Ali, Vice-President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Adel Makki, Dean of the College of Physical Education, a number of Representatives of the Parliament and the Senate, and partners of the success, the Directorate of Youth and Sports in Aswan, and some civil associations .

Prof.Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed-Aswan University President confirmed Aswan university burdens on its shoulders for implementing and activating the presidential initiative ”Sporting is a National Security” by the directions of President Abdul Fattah Al Sisi-President of the Republic on activating sport and students activities inside the university. The initiative has been launched from the beginning of the academic staff 17 October,2020 under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Supreme Council of Universities through the Faculty of Physical Education in cooperation with the Central Administration of Youth Care under the patronage of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the supervision of Dr. Sobhi Mohammad Hassanein- Vice President of the Sports Federation of Universities, Dr. Hisham El Guoshi- Secretary of the Federation, and a group of academic staff of Aswan University at Faculty of Physical Education, and university staff.

Dr. Ahmed Ghallab added that the most important element of the success of the presidential initiative ”Sporting is A National Security” is a breakthrough in sporting facilities that have been witnessed by the university such as sporting playgrounds with several purposes as well as the corner stone of Olympic Swimming Pool has been laid and sporting university stadium with a capacity of 2000 spectators until sporting facilities became a miniature Olympic village where in its places hosted the top, sporting, youth, and student championships similar to the first week of Youth of African Universities that has been hosted by Aswan University in its first year and achieved a great success.

Prof.Ahmed Ghallab indicated the target of the presidential initiative is promoting sporting to became a lifestyle and included several of events such as bicycle race, swimming games, running, walking, and others of participating games in order to refine sporting talents for students and graduate a health generation physically, sporting, intellectually, and socially.

Dr.Ayman Osman-Vice University President for Postgraduate Studies and Research explained the university witnessed a breakthrough in the sporting facilities  that can be useful in developing training and skill capabilities of students and all university students not only students of the Faculty of Physical Education and that’s according to the saying” The Health Brain in the Health Body” and we work on building students educationally and developing their creative capabilities through student activities that are considered a chance to create the spirit of sporting competition among university students. 

Dr. Adel Makki- Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education valued the role of Dr.Ahmed Ghallab-Aswan University President in his supporting  over 11 weeks since the time of the initiative in the first-semester, as well as 250 academic staff and their associates,4 thousand students, and 650 university employees benefited from it.

At the conclusion of the celebration,the partners of success honored from the external society, the participating administrations in the initiative as well as the winning students in the various sporting games have been honored, and the departments of the faculty, students and attenders picked memorized photos at the conclusion of the celebration with the university president and attenders.
