Established Under Republican Decree No. 809 of 1975, the Faculty of Arts was established in Aswan. Academic instruction officially began in the 2000/2001 academic year.
The Faculty awards the Bachelor of Arts degree in its various majors upon the successful completion of a four-year program of study.
It follows both a directed enrollment system and an affiliation system, in addition to the general affiliation system. The primary language of instruction is Arabic, except in departments where specialization courses require instruction in other languages, such as English and French.
