Prof.Ahmed Ghallab-Aswan University President within the framework of the keenness of state with the Egyptian Universities and the development which Aswan University witnessed it and Aswan University Hospitals; the university received Prof.Anwar Ismail-Assistant of the Minister of Higher Education& Scientific Research of the national projects, the visit includes national projects and the size of projects that are carrying out on a full swing in Aswan University at the campus in Sahari on the area of 400 acres include the new administrative buildings and Aswan University Playground and a group of multi-purposes sporting playgrounds, Olympic swimming pool, and beach ball playgrounds.
As well as developing laboratories of the Faculty of Science, new garage, maintenance workshops of the university cars, summer and winter theatre, works of infrastructure, and redesign and re-plane the internal ways of the campus at Sahari. Prof.Ahmed Ghallab and Prof.Anwar Ismail visited the new campus of New Aswan City to assuring from the implementation of new constructive and national projects that are carrying out in a full swing at the branch of the university in New Aswan City where includes 9 buildings in the area of 98.5 acres which includes the buildings of the faculties of arts, law, Dar Al-Uloom, nursing, tourism&hotels, languages&translation, archaeology, and commerce; as well as the medical university facilities and the medical specialized centers in New Aswan City which are ongoing.
Prof.Ahmed Ghallab added the visit includes inspecting the comprehensive development in Aswan University Hospital by adding nearly 300 beds through adding several operations and intensive care rooms and other medical services, as well as it’s done 85% of the project of establishing the internal disease hospital which forms of 5 floors; the hospital includes 150 beds which are distributed in the general and private departments of the internal diseases, brain&nervs, heart, tumors, thoracic, dermatological and physiotherapy.
Prof.Ahmed Ghallab indicated the visit inspects the project of establishing reception and emergency hospital which consists of a basement and 4 floors, a central restaurant, food halls, sterilizing rooms, central laundries, and the departments of bones, internal diseases, and urology.
Another 150 beds will be located in the surgical, trauma emergency, intensive care, radiology, and laboratory departments. Dr. Ahmed Ghallab explained that the university hospital receives more than 1,400 cases in reception and emergency departments every day. It performs 2,500 various surgeries per month. The current clinical capacity reaches 415 beds. 75% of the bed capacity will be added after the completion of the current expansion projects. The visit included inspecting the new hemodialysis department with a capacity of 56 machines, covering the provision of curative service to patients during the current period.
Dr. Ahmed Ghallab Muhammad, President of the University and Dr. Anwar Ismail, Assistant Minister of Higher Education for National Projects, accompanied during the visit Dr. Ayman Othman, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Muhammadzaki Dahshuri, Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Ashraf Maabad, Executive Director of University Hospitals, Dr. Muhammad Zakaria Abdel Hamid, Engineering Advisor to the University, and Dr. Essam Abu Al-Majd, Director of Central and Medical Affairs at the University Hospital, and Hussein Abdullatif, Secretary-General of the University.
