Activating the cooperation protocol with the Ministry of Endowments for training Imams and female Preachers

Today, Sunday, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed- Aswan University President witnessed the start of the cooperation protocol events between the two parties in the attendance of Prof. Ayman Othman – Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Mohamed Ezzat-Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments in Aswan, and Prof. Farid Abdul Zahir – the former Dean of the Faculty of Dar Al Uloom, Prof. Mohammad Abu Al-Sheikh – Dean of the Faculty of Dar Al Uloom and the trainees of the Imams and Preachers.

Prof.Ahmed Ghallab welcomed the attendees and appreciated the importance of cooperation between the Ministry of Endowments under the leadership of Dr. Mohammad Mukhtar Jumaa – Minister of Endowments and Aswan University to train imams and female preachers with the aim of qualifying imams and developing their intellectual and cultural capabilities towards the sciences of the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet regarding to the various current religious issues.

Ghallab added that this is coming including the events of the signed protocol between the Ministry of Endowments and Aswan University regarding training imams and preachers to raise awareness and education about current issues in several areas, including the sciences of Arabic language and literature and their fields in the sciences of psychology, communication skills, and the art of recitation; and the protocol includes Faculties of (Arts – Dar Uloom- Social Work – Medicine).

Prof. Ayman Othman-Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, indicated that it was agreed between the two parties to open the door for registration for masters and doctorates at the university for imams and female preachers, provided that the tuition fees are equal, and this comes within the framework of the state’s concern for imams and preachers, developing religious discourse and fighting destructive ideas.

Dr. Mohammad Ezzat- Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments in Aswan, explained the importance of training and qualifying for imams and female preachers to keep pace with the developments that have occurred in society, stressing the importance of this protocol with Aswan University which represents the Mihrab of knowledge; the Undersecretary directed his thanks and appreciating to Dr. Mohammed Mokhtar Jumaa-Minister of Endowments for his interesting with imams and female preachers.
