The International Sports Tourism Forum (Horizons and Ambitions)- Aswan Ahla Initiative

Within the framework of implementing the presidential initiative launched under the auspice of his Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi-President of the Republic, and implemented by Aswan University headed by Prof. Ahmed Ghellab Mohamed-President of Aswan University.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab said that the activities of the International Forum for Sports Tourism (Horizons and Ambitions) – Aswan Ahla Initiative – launched today, on Thursday 18-20 March 2021 which is held under the patronage of Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi-Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Major General Ashraf Attia, Governor of Aswan, and Dr. Ahmed Ghallab, President of Aswan University; the Faculty of Physical Education – Aswan University hosted this is the largest tourist sporting event to stimulate tourism and sports while taking into account all precautionary measures to limit the repercussions of Corona virus at Aswan Governorate (the land of gold) in the Arab Republic of Egypt. University President Ahmed Ghallab added that it is within the framework of cooperation between the Faculty of Physical Education and a number of different sports and tourism institutions in Egypt, the Arab world and the world “participating in the international conference on Aswan, the capital of culture, economy, arts, and Arab-African youth.”

Major General/ Ashraf Attia- Governor of Aswan, said that during his speech he was pleased with the development witnessed by Aswan University and its hosting of such tourist and sports recipients that need marketing and investment to attract them to the governorate, and that the governorate has the natural ingredients that help restore Aswan Governorate to its natural position.
Dr. Kamal Al-Din Darwish, Head of the Physical Education Sector at the Supreme Council of Universities, praised the sports facilities witnessed by Aswan University and the effort made in developing the Faculty of Physical Education and its various activities at Aswan University headed by Dr. Ahmed Ghallab, within the framework of cooperation between the relevant ministries of higher education, tourism, antiquities, youth and sports.

Dr. Mohamed Sobhi Hassanein, Vice President of the Egyptian Sports Federation for Universities, explained the importance of sports and student activities supported by the state through the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and recommended, in his words, to hold a sports tournament among the Nile Basin countries to bring more harmony among the youth of the African continent.

Dr. Adel Mekki, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education at Aswan University indicated that the forum hosts many participating sports figures, including Dr. Kamal Darwish, Chairman of the Education Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities, the former president of the Zamalek Club, Dr. Hussein Al-Masry, the rapporteur of the Physical Education Sector Committee, and Dr. Mohamed Hassanein Sobhi, Vice President of the Egyptian Sports Federation And Dr. Mohamed Ali, Dean of the Faculty of Education in Assiut, and Dr. Hisham El-Guoshi, Secretary General of the Federation, and many sports figures and leaders in the game of diving, tourism and water games. The conference witnesses many sports festivals, including the Second Sports for All Festival in Aswan, which is held on the stadiums of Aswan University as well as the ninth promotional festival for sports navigation and work to publish The foundations of the culture of sports tourism in Egypt, and at the conclusion of the opening session, Dr. Ahmed Ghallab, President of the University, presented the University Shield to Major General/ Ashraf Attia, Governor of Aswan, for his unlimited support for Aswan University.
