About

One of the significant departments of the College of Arts is the Department of Psychology, which collaborates with other departments to offer psychological assistance and direction. One of the department’s key objectives was to prepare an outstanding graduate who could work in the psychological area. This goal was driven by the need for a specialization in the community and the fact that the department also teaches laboratory materials in addition to conducting visits. Graduates of the department can find employment in a variety of settings, including universities, hospitals, institutes, and schools. They can also enroll in police academies.

The psychology laboratory was established in 2019, and the department was founded in 2017.

The department strives to be a leader at the local and regional levels in delivering psychological services and consultations, excellence in community service, and preparing psychologists and psychological researchers for the labor market.

Goals

The Department of Psychology seeks to create an environment in which students can participate and exercise their right to freedom of speech. It also works to produce outstanding graduates who are able to use technology, administer psychological tests, provide psychological consultations to raise awareness of various psychological issues in the community, and graduate cadres who are qualified to work in hospitals, schools, psychiatric clinics, addiction treatment facilities, and family courts. by enhancing kids’ success skills, field experience, and cognitive development.

Mission

1- Training an experienced psychologist to work in a variety of settings (e.g., educational, criminal, clinical, industrial, family, special groups, etc.)

2. Giving the graduate the ability to carry out psychological research in numerous sectors to support and advance the educational process and help address societal problems.

3. Participating in the provision of psychological consultations to various societal institutions (such as criminal, educational, and industrial ones).

4- Offering advice and treatment for a variety of issues and psychological diseases at the level of people, society, and neighborhood institutions.

5. The graduate will develop problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities that will be useful in a variety of fields of work.

6- Training a psychologist who can use computers and other modern technology to keep up with contemporary advancements in the psychology area.

7-Preparing a graduate has the ability to develop himself continuously.
