Dr. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed – Aswan University President announced the university’s preparations for holding the first semester exams, which are scheduled to be held after the end of the mid-year vacation, starting on February 20, explaining that there is a strict plan to apply precautionary measures to prevent the emerging corona virus.
The university president added that the examination schedules for all faculties will be announced respectively in order students and academic staff prepare for works’ exams, and the extent of the final preparations for the works of the first semester exams 2020/2021, as the university has the capabilities through which it can provide well-ventilated halls for examination committees and take into account social spacing of one and a half meters between each student with wearing medical masks in various faculties with applying all precautionary measures in light of confronting the emerging Corona Virus, in order to ensure the safety of students, academic staff and their assistants, and all university employees; as well as works to harness all the university’s capabilities to run the works of the exams and, work to success the first semester exams in light of the exceptional circumstances which the country is going through.
“Ghallab” explained that the university is striving to conduct examinations electronically, starting from the next year, within the framework of the university’s plan for digital transformation, stressing the importance of the digital transformation and working on the university’s commitment and full keenness to implement the directives of the state, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications to transform Egyptian universities into smart universities.
The university president added that Aswan University has good ingredients in terms of technological infrastructure and availability of the Internet, whose efficiency has recently been upgraded, as well as the university has a unified electronic platform for distance learning, and efforts have been underway to finalize the preparing the Electronic Examination Centers at the university in addition to equipped research laboratories whose results have emerged in achieving Aswan University to advanced places in the international scientific rankings; as well as the university works to achieve Egypt’s vision and strategy for the comprehensive development 2030.
“Ghallab” indicated that the university’s preparations for receiving the second semester are underway by preparing classrooms and research laboratories in the various campuses of the university at the various campuses of the university Sahari, and New Aswan City, and hostels, as well as works to apply all precautionary measures to confront the emerging Corona virus including: sterilizing buildings, and self-sterilization gates , to carry out spraying and sterilization works periodically for educational facilities, to provide temperature measuring devices, and ensuring these measures are applied in order to ensure the safety of students.
As well as standing on the extent of the faculties’ readiness to receive students to complete the study for the second semester of this year in light of the implementation of precautionary measures, within the framework of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar – Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Supreme Council of Universities.
